Riyanshi (DOB: 20-03-2022 a baby girl) has been diagnosed with Thalassemia Major and is undergoing treatment under the care of Dr. Gaurav Kharya at Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi.
At such a tender age, Riyanshi is battling severe anaemia, extreme weakness, and shortness of breath. To keep her alive, she requires regular blood transfusions. While these transfusions provide temporary relief, they are not a permanent solution. Over time, repeated transfusions cause excessive iron to accumulate in the body, which can seriously damage vital organs such as the heart, liver, pancreas, hormonal glands, and pituitary gland. If not addressed in time, these complications can become life-threatening.
After careful evaluation, Dr. Gaurav Kharya has advised an early Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) as the best chance for a cure. Undergoing the transplant at the earliest can significantly reduce the risk of irreversible organ damage and give Riyanshi the opportunity to lead a healthy and normal life.
